Thomas Pesquet
Record EU 6 EVAs. 400 jours espace. UNICEF.
An aerospace engineer and former airline pilot, Thomas Pesquet joined the European astronaut corps in 2009. Across the Proxima and Alpha missions he spent close to four hundred days aboard the International Space Station, became its first French commander and completed six spacewalks. His photographs of Earth and his following on social media have made him a science communicator reaching millions. A Goodwill Ambassador for the FAO who also supports UNICEF, he now heads Novespace, the company that operates weightless parabolic flights for research and training.
He embodies European scientific excellence and channels it into societal engagement, from climate awareness to children's causes, with a reach that extends well beyond the space community.
