Sunita Narain
Voix du climat en Inde. Justice climatique.
Indian environmentalist Sunita Narain has led the Centre for Science and Environment in New Delhi for more than two decades and edits the magazine Down To Earth. Her research on air quality, water management and pollution has shaped Indian public policy, including the switch of Delhi's public transport to compressed natural gas. She has long argued for an equitable division of climate responsibility between rich and developing nations. A recipient of the Padma Shri, she has been named among Time magazine's 100 most influential people.
She has shown that independent, rigorous research can move policy in a nation of 1.4 billion people, while establishing equity as a central notion in the global climate debate.
