Kate Kallot
IA satellite pour agriculteurs africains.
After senior roles at Intel, Arm and NVIDIA, where she led emerging-market and developer-community efforts, Kate Kallot founded Amini in 2022. The Nairobi-based start-up combines satellite imagery, ground sensors and artificial intelligence to close Africa's environmental data gap, giving smallholder farmers, insurers and supply chains a way to measure climate risk and soil health for the first time. She argues that technology for the continent should be designed on the continent, and has made data sovereignty a central part of the company's mission.
She tackles a blind spot in development, the lack of reliable environmental data on Africa, with a technological approach that could benefit millions of farmers.
