Yulia Navalnaya

Chair
Anti-Corruption Foundation

Opposition russe. Résistance démocratique.

Profile

An economist by training, Yulia Navalnaya spent years away from the spotlight, alongside her husband Alexei Navalny. After his death in custody in 2024, she took up the leadership of his movement and now chairs the Anti-Corruption Foundation he founded. Speaking from exile, she has addressed the European Parliament, the Munich Security Conference and Western governments, calling for the release of political prisoners and for a democratic, peaceful Russia. She also chairs the Human Rights Foundation, which supports dissidents worldwide.

Why this selection

She gives a face and continuity to Russia's civil society in exile, a societal commitment carried at considerable personal risk and heard well beyond her country.
