The fourth generation of a banking dynasty, Ana Botín became executive chair of Banco Santander in 2014, succeeding her father Emilio. Educated in the United States and trained at JPMorgan before running Santander UK, she leads one of Europe's largest banks, serving more than 150 million customers across Spain, the United Kingdom, Latin America and the United States. She has driven the group's digital transformation and championed responsible finance, with a strong focus on financial inclusion and on higher education through the bank's long-running university programs.
